The Union Ministry of Information Technology has now opened an account on the indigenous microblogging site Koo to take Twitter by surprise. Since then, Koo’s downloads have increased by 30 lakh.

There is talk that the central government has started a strategy to push Twitter, which has been at the center of the struggle in the farmers’ movement. Last week, Twitter rejected a request by the Indian government to ban 257 accounts.
