Known as Diwali or “Dipawali”, it is the largest and most sacred festival of Hindus in India and around the world. This festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm by people all over the world. Although it is considered a Hindu festival, people from different communities celebrate the festival by lighting lamps, forgetting discrimination.
Diwali is known as the “Dipotsav” festival of light over darkness. Lamps are placed in the earthen pots at home. The whole area is “illuminated” with lights of different colors and shapes and sky lanterns.
I love Diwali very much. Because Diwali is a holiday for everyone and all the families come together and celebrate. Gifts are given to each other. I invite all my friends to “Faral’s” house, and my friends take me to their house, so we get to know each other’s parents.
My friend and I build a fort on Diwali. On Diwali, my sister draws beautiful rangoli in front of the door every day. The delicious aroma of Diwali dishes like Chakli, Laddu, Karanji, Shankarpale, Chivda. I love laddu.
On Diwali Daddy takes us new clothes. On the day of Lakshmi Pooja, we all perform Lakshmi Pooja together as a family. On the day of “bhaidooj”, the happiness on Didi’s face is like seeing. Didi waves to me that day and I give her presents. Didi pampers me a lot.
Some people play firecrackers on Diwali. But it also causes a lot of trouble for domestic animals and birds. The poor are very frightened by the loud noise. I don’t like to bother mute creatures like this during the festival. Playing firecrackers degrades the environment a lot, I avoid playing loud firecrackers after being taught by the teachers that firecrackers cause pollution.
